Zacchaeus Story: Luke 19:1-10 - "WORLD REJECT - JESUS ACCEPT"

 Zacchaeus story
"WORLD REJECT - JESUS ACCEPT"

In Luke 19:1-10 there is a story about a rich man named Zacchaeus. A chief tax collector.

At that time, a tax collector was someone who was hated and avoided by society. Why?

Because at that time, Israel was under Roman occupation. So, a tax collector was someone who worked for the Romans.

A person who likes to blackmail his own people for his own benefit, that is why society hates and rejects him.

Almost as similar to the story of Zacchaeus in the Bible: Rejected by the World, Accepted by Jesus, Society also mentions him as a sinner (verse 7). The world rejected it but Jesus accepted. Why is that?

God's Word says:

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:18)

The story of Zacchaeus is an example that Jesus loves sinners, accepts them as they are even though He hates their actions.

Jesus is looking for people who are lost in sin like Zacchaeus, what about us?

Make no mistake! What is hated is the act of sin and what is loved is the person can we tell the difference?

Can we hate the action and love the person? Jesus can and should his church too! That's about the story of Zacchaeus in the Bible: Rejected by the World, Accepted by Jesus.
